My counseling philosophy is a holistic, systems-based approach. I believe that people are influenced by their relationships, communities, and the larger societal context. Understanding how personal experiences interact with these broader factors is key to helping clients grasp their challenges and strengths. I work hard to create an open, authentic therapeutic environment where clients feel safe and supported. I focus on building genuine connections and use humor to break down barriers, making therapy a relaxed and approachable experience. My approach is client-centered and collaborative, tailored to each person’s unique needs and goals.

I have experience working with LGBTQIA+ clients and with issues related to gender and sexual identity exploration, anxiety, depression, mindfulness, and trauma. I strive to provide affirming and inclusive care, recognizing the diverse experiences within the LGBTQIA+ community, and creating a space where all identities are respected and celebrated. Besides traditional therapeutic methods, I’m also a certified yoga teacher. I can bring mind-body practices like breathing exercises, meditation, guided visualizations, and gentle movement into sessions. These practices can help clients manage stress, process emotions, and develop better self-awareness, leading to a stronger connection between mind and body.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree from Texas Woman’s University and a Master’s degree in Counseling from Southern Methodist University, where I graduated summa cum laude. My education, along with my work experience, has given me a solid foundation in counseling theories and practices, especially when it comes to working with diverse populations. My yoga certification also allows me to integrate holistic techniques into my therapy sessions, supporting clients in their journey toward self-discovery, healing, and personal growth.
