TEENS NEED A SAFE + SUPPORTIVE ENVIRONMENT where they can process struggles and pressures they encounter in their world. Although teens have the ability to communicate their needs verbally, they thrive with creative arts and activity based interventions. The combination of talk therapy with activities and expressive arts can help to facilitate growth, change and a deeper understanding of self.
We’re pleased to offer therapists trained in talk therapy, activity and expressive therapies, and EMDR Therapy for teens.

Caregiver Consultation is a vital component of working with any teen in counseling. Talking with parents and caregivers helps therapists gain insight and a holistic view of the adolescent to identify areas of concern and struggle, as well as growth and change. In addition, therapists provide education and guidance so caregivers can help their teens express themselves and set healthy boundaries to aid development in therapy.
EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) Therapy helps transform how traumatic events affect the brain and our ability to function in healthy ways. EMDR uses the brain’s innate ability to reprocess experiences and change their influence. It can effectively reduce emotional distress, relieve uncomfortable physical symptoms and transform negative beliefs to help you get past stuck points and engage in life in a more resilient and successful way.
Ask your therapist about how EMDR might benefit your teen. For additional information and research, visit the EMDR International Association or EMDR Institute, Inc.
