Expressive Arts and Activity Therapy allows adults to express themselves and communicate when words are hard to find. Although most adults can talk about their thoughts and feelings, creative therapies provide a unique opportunity to share information without the confines of language.
EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) Therapy helps transform how traumatic events affect the brain and our ability to function in healthy ways. EMDR uses the brain’s innate ability to reprocess experiences and change their influence. Therapeutic Yoga combines an understanding of how trauma impacts body, mind and spirit with yoga practices of breath work, movement and mindfulness. These classes are taught with the goal of connecting mind and body in a safe and supportive way. Yoga can improve your awareness and ability to shift from a state of distress into a state of calm. Classes are kept small, and students are helped to honor their unique needs.
